The second body was one of the first side mission things I did, as you said, stumbled upon. I then did the first fire fighter. I have been destroying the riddler objects as well, but that is it for the sides. I did run the track a few times to get a bit better used to the driving. Remembering the Batmobile can go sideways has been a big help. Keep trying to steer it like a normal car was not working.
