it's similar to some people wanting to see actors or musicians or authors, etc. (all of which are also in the yt community, too).

I am uncomfortable with how some yters are presented, with a sort of manufactured role-modelness* and those who comment about their fans instead of followers; but there are some good folks who I regularly choose to spend my time watching, and I have followed some for many years now. mostly girly-based stuff, some lifestyle, some music, some random.
*I actually worry about some of them and the pressures placed upon them by pr companies and such - it can be crazy. in particular, there's a set of younger folks that are all repped by a company in the UK that have pretty much had a good chunk of their lives taken over, including forced friendships. some of them have shared about anxiety issues, and all that can't help.
