I don't get this. You're guaranteeing money in a contract. Short of him being unable to fulfill his contract via his choice (retirement / jail)

am I missing how "Guaranteed" doesn't mean what it means? I'm just picturing Seinfeld, "Sir, I know what a reservation means." "I don't think you do."
