Two work beefs...1) Our parent company froze annual increases last fall as the parent company took a 10% across the board cut. (Not for us.)

This has lead to a number of staff bitching at me about it, which is fine, however...YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO A RAISE JUST 'CUZ! It sucks I know - mine was held up from November until yesterday - but if the company is cutting wages for the large parent company, be glad that our subsiduary is keeping them the same.

2) We had a wicked spring snow storm this week. One employee, still on probation, has called in twice this week due to the roads because she lives an hour out of town. Well guess what? That's not the company's problem and maybe that means we'll have to reconsider our options when the probation time is done. All the staff that choose to live within twenty minutes of the office managed to get in, if a little late, but still, and if you choose to commute from rural Manitoba that is fine, but weather happens and you need to factor that into your living arrangements when taking a job.
