In response to "YDC: My brother and sister are on vacation together in Cape May. I'm only finding out about it through pics on FB. -- (edited)" by Krusty

I run into stuff like this alot with my family. My parents frequently visit my sister (35 minutes from my house) but often don't let us know or offer

to stop by our house, etc. etc. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with my kids being older (both my sisters kids are in grade school and her husband is at home with them, works weekends), our house being far busier schedule-wise, etc. etc.

I'm also not someone to call them on any regular basis (my sister does) so it's just the way of things. It bothered my wife for a long time and now it's honestly just sad. They're distancing themselves from their grandkids and not taking opportunities to see them esp with them getting ready for HS/college and out the door.

Sorry this is happening with your siblings. The only advice that I can give is that you probably have to make an effort to reconnect with them simply because they're probably in a place where they assume things about your schedule and simply have, for right or wrong, made up their mind about asking...
