Japanese wrestlers are notoriously disciplined and well trained, so they can attempt more dangerous moves like that.

Oddly, a TNA guy, AJ Styles, left the company and went to Japan, where his not-that-complex finisher promptly broke a Japanese dude's neck. The guy turned his head exactly the wrong way.
