I liked Lang's friends and the scenes they shot for Luis' stories were hysterical.
"They had this rose'..." and "I'm more of a neo-cubist...."
Plus his rescuing the guy he knocked out.
Oh, and "Baskin-Robbins always finds out..."
I like that Paxton, the step-dad, wasn't an asshole, just protective of Maggie and Cassie. The final dinner scene was wonderful.
Evangaline Lilly as Wasp?! Hell's yes!
The effects and choreographing the fights with Scott shifting sizes was very, very well done. And the Thomas the Tank Engine stuff was perfect. I think it was the eyes continuing to move after landing on the police car.
I also enjoy that it feels integrated with the MCU in a very organic way. I especially liked the final scene with Falcon putting out feelers to find Scott. And the reference to "wall crawlers" hinting at Spider-Man.
Just so much to love about this film. Warm and funny and exciting.
And it is another example of what Marvel/Disney are doing right and what WB/DC just don't get. Treat the material with respect but don't take it so seriously that you suck all the fun out of it.
I saw the Bats v Supes trailer in front of this and I noticed something for the first time: When Bats is rising up out of the Batmobile, Supes is standing on the hood. A guy in red, blue and yellow was so drab that he was barely distinguishable from the background. The fire to the right of the frame was brighter and did more to draw the eye. I never noticed Supes in that scene until I saw the trailer today. That's some shitty ass scene composition on Snyder's part.
Also saw the Star Wars trailer and I'm not gonna lie, Marge, I felt 9 again. I want this movie to be good so so much.
