It's not supposed to be a 7.1 (or even 5.1) substitute. At best, it seems to be a 2.1 upgrade to the speakers already in your TV. The bonuses are:
- WIRELESS subwoofer
- It's not a receiver/amp (the manual has instructions on how you *can* use it with a receiver/amp, so there!)
- Did I mention the subwoofer was WIRELESS?
- Cheap ($350)
- Available everywhere
