I know you're just being stubborn right now, but let's talk seriously for a moment.

The way that everyone gets better is through better gear. The three drops at the end (or six if we start at the Gorgon chest) include exotics and raid gear. VoC in particular is a devastating weapon, as is the Mythoclast. Doing three Aetheon and three Crota finishes is better than doing a full run of one or the other. It's also a better use of time. Crota makes sense, because it's faster. If we want to go back to doing VoG, I'm fine with that, but at least three of the regular players struggle mightily with it. That has a tendency to frustrate everyone else.
What you're arguing right now is more about your getting Fatebringer than about everybody else getting better. And honestly, I'm fine with that as long as we have a checkpoint to start right at that drop. It's wasting half an hour getting to that point that's the problem.

A suggestion. Lets run it on 26 and go through it. Learning it on hard mode was not good.

as a former MMO player, I can tell you that it's not always gear.

also, to note, I am pretty sure everyone has just about everything from Crota.

at this point, everyone is 34. The gear they get is marginally better than what they have, if even that.
