they'd have to eat a lot of chocolate for it to kill them.
The pot wouldn't do anything other than make them hungry and sleepy like everyone else.

The article says something about an ethanol based product being in the cupcakes. That sounds very suspicious. That would lead me to believe someone wanted to poison the dogs or something else.
