Oh yeah. Google Idaho wines--they've been winning awards for years, There are some great wine tours, both organized and DIY

we live in the middle of winery country in the middle of the Snake River valley
I love love love Ste. Chappelle's, They have an award winning Riesling Ice dessert wine that is to die for. I also love Carmela's, they do a really nice Syrah. Anyway I linked a neat little article below. Pay attention to the 2nd paragraph, we live in Mountain Home and well...you'll see ;)
