I applied to adopt a cat friend yesterday. they told me that it's likely that I wouldn't be selected because I haven't had a pet in the last

five years (you know, when I was renting) and that I couldn't provide a reference from a vet (you know. because I have no pets).
so like, how am I supposed to get a cat friend? buy one? isn't that exactly what I'm *not* supposed to do?

If they turn you down there should be other adoption agencies in the area. -- nm

Are they aware of those issues? Are they the only adoption facility?

Some places have rules like that but there should be other places. Our shelters are overflowing with cats so I'm sure yours are too.

Maybe you need to lease a cat for a bit before you can buy. You know, to build a credit history -- nm
