Are they aware of those issues? Are they the only adoption facility?

Perhaps check to see if there is a local breed-specific rescue group in town?
Responses:
I live in a very small town so my options are pretty limited. they suggested I go to harrisburg or pittsburgh where there are more lenient rescue
