question: in a ceiling fan with a light fixture (three bulbs), do I want 25w or 40w equiv bulbs? (am I crazy?)

one of my bulbs was burned out when I moved in. it was a 40w. I replaced all three bulbs with 40w equiv LEDs.
it seems way too bright now, but I recognize that I may be crazy. am I just used to the darker, or would you think I would actually want 25w equiv bulbs? (this sounds very dim to me.)

Take one of the forties out and see if it's more to your liking? -- nm

I have 4 25s in my living room ceiling fan. I wish they were brighter -- nm

I have 25's but in a room with another light (it's in my kitchen). Replace the switch with a dimmer switch -- nm

you don't want 3 x 25. we have hall fixtures that use 2 x 40 Watt, and i wish they were a smidge brighter. -- nm

don't go by watt equivalencies, go by lumens -- nm

I think I have 40w in mine, but that is the only light in the room, so I want it brighter. nm -- nm
