There's Hillary, Biden*, Warren...many of the guys who would have national appeal are in leadership and not willing to risk it...and the 2010/2014 waves have decimated a generation of palatable moderate options.

*Biden is a 2x nationwide nominee non-factor.

Warren would be the leader, but I don't think she'd be a favorite to win...too frank and serious.
