The party (save the Warren Wing) is united behind her because they know she is the best chance to win

Whatever her faults as a primary candidate (and she's obviously never going to be an Obama on the trail) she - and the party machinery - will present a compelling, stark distinction with whatever GOP juggernaut emerges from their primaries

The economy would have to completely tank by next November and Obama's approval ratings would have to collapse at the same time to change the fundamentals of her race against whomever the GOP chooses

As the Moody's prediction notes, she can afford to lose Ohio, Colorado, and Florida from Obama's coalition of victory and still eke out a bare electoral majority
