I haven't read it, but it's pretty easy to tell what's real and what's edited and exaggerated. It's still fun to watch. The ones on NBC are where he

takes celebrities out on these adventures. The sense that he tries to convey of sort of making it up as he goes along is ridiculous, but watching the celebrities push themselves outside their comfort zones is pretty fun to watch.
