I ran into that mindset when I was in Austin as well

I would take the bus from a park-and-ride to downtown, especially during events. (Austin bus systems wasn't perfect, but it was better then compared to now. How has it gotten WORSE?!). The line I used had 11-12 minute frequency on weekdays which isn't bad (it seems to somehow be 20-35 now)

People couldn't conceal their horror when I mentioned the bus. They openly told me they wouldn't feel safe. What's unsafe about the bus?

  - our university buses are a part of our local bus system. so a white loop you take on thursday might be a RC bus on friday. maybe that's his issue? -- nm - fabulous squad Aug 12, 08:16
