The sad thing about the Amazon story is that that kind of work environment can't change on a dime.

Even if Bezos decided to change everything today, the company is now crawling with people brought up in this toxic working environment. Amazon would have to go through some Yahoo-like chaos before ever achieving Google/Facebook nirvana.
