as you may or may not know, we purchased a new financial reporting software package that was supposed to ease my department's workload significantly in july of 2014.
implementation has not gone well. we should have walked away from the project in january of this year, but we couldn't for political reasons.
we are being forced to go ahead with this project that honestly I don't think will ever work for us. when we started, we had approx 20 requirements for our sign off for implementation. it's been 13 months and we are through 4.5 of these, we've burned all of our consulting hours and more, we have spent over a week in the last month with a solutions engineer (from the vendor) who can't seem to get his head around our financials, let alone how to program around them.
so it's a lot of frustration. and it's a lot of time in meetings and troubleshooting and on the phone and fighting with the vendor. all of this in addition to my real job and trying to like, set up my house.
and then last week alana (my boss) *added* six things to our list of 20. like 20 wasn't impossible enough? now we have 26. so it's like more more more all the time.
that's all. it's just work killing me. I'm fine, I swear. just working all the fucking time (and always projecting so I can never slack off with you fine jerks).
