if the third strike is dropped, the batter can "steal" first

he must have already started his 6'th inning pitching when he was pulled. which counts as 5 many times. -- nm*

He would get credit for /3rds of an inning for each 6th inning strikeout. It's more likely what R said -- nm

Yeah. He struck out 4 in the 5th. Then he was pulled for pitch count rules and they lost 1-0 -- nm
