I do hate seeing the people using them where smoking is prohibited like restaurants and subway stations for example.

The smell isn't bothersome unless you're someone that is expecting to be bothered. The clouds of vapor can bother some people. It's very similar to the smoke machines you see in clubs. They use the same ingredients, for the most part. No one is freaking out that what they're breathing in at the club is going to kill them and they shouldn't be because it's mostly vegetable glycerin which is safe.
