I'm still boggled by the idea that 14 months prior to the election is "late." I know I shouldn't be. I know first hand that modern presidential campaigns start more than 24 months in advance of the actual election, but still ...
I yearn for the days when candidates didn't dare announce prior to Labor Day, and announcing prior to the first snowfall was considered uncouth.
