can't really do it, as it's so very inconsistent; and averaging isn't fair to the good folks. -- nm

also need to differentiate between different parts of IT. like our actual desk phone lines are the suckity suck - they made a huge mistake switching to a new system a few years ago, and avaya did not hold up to their promises. (it's possible there was legal involvement, but I gather our side didn't make sure there were as much protection as there should have been.) third-party attempts to fix haven't fixed everything - I have to apologize for bad sound all the time, have to rerecord outgoing messages because they are choppy, etc. ugh.
