It's a reflection of how out of touch the hotel is.

Most business travelers have 3 devices. Ramada and la Quinta will give you fast, free wifi across the board. But regardless, it just reflects that the hotel is outdated and outmoded. They're charging a premium for what amounts to a marble lobby.
