Fairmont Gold. This is the life.

The lounge has breakfast, coffee, tea, and snacks throughout the day. I booked a suite with a harbor view and got upgraded to a larger room. The wifi is super fast with unlimited devices. Treats in the room, turndown service... It's indulgent but I'm pampering myself.

I've stayed at the Empress before. The regular rooms are tiny, yes, but always opulent and well maintained. The suite is roomy. And a stark contrast the the Four Seasons in Vancouver which, although roomy, looked like it hadn't changed since construction in the late 70s or early 80s.
