some people think he was pushed to change. they apparently never listened to much of his work beyond the hits. he always mixed things up some, at -- (edited)

least. (and dance versions of songs often aren't to be put on the writers/performers of the originals. the trend to make serious, meaningful songs into dance versions, in particular, is gross to me.)

st, where everything old can be new again, see link below, which stemmed from a december post that proclaimed Ed must have had little or no say in the latest album, because some of it is different than the previous one.

edited to add: not to mention that Ed went through a lot of new life and relationship things in between, and had exposure to working with a variety of people he hadn't before - dude clearly has a blast mixing things up/incorporating different things.


from bb's, I think ed sheeran had a lot of say in his new album. listening to his own reworking of covers (a bunch on YT), for example, shows that.

as I mentioned the other day, he has serious range. I like pretty much all of it, but I can see not everything being for everyone. and if anyone has a chance to catch any of his concert shows (I haven't seen him live, just on tv and online), he is so interesting and funny and, well, odd. heh.
