There's a Destiny tactic that basically creates a new Loot Cave.

Use one of the new thing Xur sells.

Go to Eye of a Gate Lord, which you probably already have saved at the boss.

Beat that boss.

Exit the level before the mission ends.

Rinse. Wash. Repeat.

People indicate this even gives exotic drops on the level 12 version.
