Pea-meal bacon is basically Canadian bacon. Back in the day, it used to be rolled in ground yellow split peas to prevent spoiling

To make the pea-meal bacon sandwich: Slice, cook, place in sandwich BLT-style.
It's not that it's bad - I mean, how can you go wrong? But it's just a BLT, and about as far as Toronto street food goes.
Well, there are also the hot dog/sausage carts - which until very recently were the only street food allowed to be sold from carts on the street - and those are fine too, but there's nothing distinctive about them.
