You lost me. You said if Biden was a bad candidate, he wouldn't have won VP. I gave you Quayle

who won VP and then later ran for President and was a complete non-factor.

Also, Biden isn't a good candidate, but his VP opponent was Sarah Palin, who might be the worst major-office candidate in our lifetimes. Again, being bad when the other is awful...doesn't make you good.

Biden has run twice. He dropped out for ethics issues the first time and then was a complete non-factor the 2nd time. There is no evidence he's a good Presidential campaigner. Being VP just means he'll have a better pedestal to start from.

Also, since 1837, how many sitting VP's have *won* the Presidency? 1. Bush Sr. in 1988. That's it.

Don't overestimate the VP slot as anything other than a higher pedestal to fall from for most politicians.
