So if I want to solo on a song that's bluegrass/folk/country, can I basically just solo in the major chord of the key that the song is in? I've been trying to find a clear answer on this on the internet, but everybody talks about pentatonic scales, which I think are more appropriate for soloing on rock or blues type music (again, correct me if I'm wrong). In any case, if a song is in the key of G and I want to take a solo break, can I just noodle on the G major scale around the neck?
