The point we are trying to get across is that we are talking about a population that has been disadvantaged for a long period of time.

I realise it's not the comparison you were asking for: ~~"I'd be interested to see a comparison between US and Canadian orphanages" but it's a comparison that's material to the discussion about Aboriginal deaths in Canada.
