My documents are long, boring memos that are read in full light so I'm not much help but I like Crimson or Sylfaen for serif fonts.

I don't like sans serif fonts for long blocks of text.
And Times New Roman is banished in my department and shall never be spoken of again though it might work okay with a technical document.
