I'd think most are less than that.

I put a stupid amount into a past car that wasn't all that old but decidedly lemon-y; and into my mom's older car because of not wanting to commit to the entire cost of a new one, plus she was attached to it - the latter wasn't so stuipid, just owie, esp. as more costly issues subsequently presented and it's now been donated.
