CGP Grey's free upgrade program still has me a little stumped.

He says he'll wait days to get upgraded to first class. I understand that part. But please tell me he doesn't spend all his time waiting in the airport. Do they call him a day in advance or something? Or does he just spend his time on the website hitting refresh?
