I presume that since they've invested in the actor and the dialogue, they will succeed in reopening the portal and getting him back from the distant planet. (In the meantime, do they bother to tell NASA?)
It would be cool if the portal opening also let the Planet Evil character through to Earth. He could be a creepy Jason Vorhees-like enemy, a relentlessly slow moving killing machine that also makes people go insane when he gets near them.
I'm going to guess that more expert speculators already know who he is in the Marvel universe. I don't.
