In response to "sort of, yeah." by groiny

The deaths still happened.

In a world where millions of peoples - through no fault of their own - kill millions of their loved ones in a most violent (which unquestionably happened), the repercussions would be immense. It's the church scene on a global scale. The church scene is depicted in the movie (and done so in a comical way) because everyone in that church is an evil, evil bigot and, for whatever reason, they didn't bring children to their worship, so I guess that's OK, right?

A lot of dark dramas could be written about that kind of stuff. Instead, life goes on as normal. Let's go have another pint at the pub. I guess everyone's happy because of the high vacancy rate and the fact that so many people are killing themselves because of the guilt of what they've done.
