Uninformed doesn't mean stupid. I think the GOP has done a remarkable job in convincing people that they have their best interests in mind.

You make a very good point. The democrats don't know how to talk to people sometimes.
The democrats drop the ball way too often and get caught up talking about things that lose them elections. The GOP is really good at getting the people fired up about things that are just about meaningless to whether they have a better life in the future. They get them going with discussions about guns and immigration while not mentioning how they're going to get them health care or better schools.
The democrats need to talk about how they'll improve their lives and fight back at the lies that get thrown their way.
