This where I think modern media fails us. Instead of serving as a non-biased mediator, they have all become megaphones.

Everyone only hears the side they want to hear.
There is nobody in the middle any more saying "If you vote this way on Issue 5 or with so and so candidate, this is what may or will happen and if you vote this way here is what they endorse or what will happen."
Instead you get people constantly pointing out the negatives of the other side that they don't endorse.
And increasingly, what that side actually represents has become distorted as well.
When I first started voting, I thought "I'm not going to vote party lines or anything, I'm just going to listen and vote for who or what I feel I agree with the most." That's becoming more and more difficult because any way I am able to get to that information is being fed to me through a filter that slants it horribly.
