People don't want to hear it. Media fragmented because people went to their respective sides.

Here comes the Fox started it...
But the truth is people like hearing what they already believe. That's why liberals watch Maddow and conservatives watch Fox. They're preaching to the choir and getting people angry about the "others". Then people started using the internet to separate themselves online as well. And soon liberals are left without any Republican friends and vice versa.
