I've worked with the medical profession all my adult life. They can be brilliant at medicine but they sometimes think that extends to everything else. they think if they slap an MBA on their resume they can run a business for example. The underlying idea is that nothing is as difficult as keeping people healthy, fighting death, etc so like how hard can this business, politics, writing stuff be...I get why they'd think that but their wrong (I'll never work for a doctor as a manager again and I was lucky enough to be managed by one of the better ones...but still).
Also, there are dumb doctors. One of my podiatrists acts like Krusty the Clown. I'm still trying to figure out if he's for real.
Granted, my experience is at one institution but I feel safe in my impressions.
So while we're mystified that he does appear to be an accredited Neurosurgeon it doesn't stun me that he's a bit of a lunkhead outside of that.
