I read Dignan's critique of this season of WD. I don't disagree with some of it, I understanding some frustration over some other things (spoilers)

and some of it I think is plausible.
1. Morgan makes it back to Alexandria in *less than two minutes* to stop the air horn (I timed it: 1:38). Everyone else? Apparently hours away, and lost.
- that one I can't explain. I wasn't paying as close attention to the timing so I may have missed that.
2. Darryl!! He *knows* Rick and Alexandria are likely in grave danger, yet he turns around to help two people who are perfectly fucking fine. If their car breaks down, they can get out and briskly walk away.
- He was given a mission, he's following Rick's orders. It shows that Darryl respects Rick's leadership and is becoming less a solitary figure. Plus, while the herd can obviously be outrun if there's one thing the show has done well is shown that danger lurks from everything. The walkers aren't the issue. Given that a horn is blowing from your homebase there's clearly something else out there which is unusual. that means there is unknown danger.
3. I get that Morgan is the new Moral Standard Bearer, but those people he let go were clearly very, very evil.
- Watch the next episode. It's a series game changer in how we view the morality of the world.
4. Why don't the Wolves have guns?! Good lord.
- Not sure, but they seem to be World Destroyers who enjoy carnage. Guns may be too clean for them.
5. Rick tells Glenn and Michonne to leave the rest behind because they won't all make it back. Why the fuck wouldn't they all make it? They're close to home, healthy, well armed, the horde is well behind them and it's impossible for stragglers to sneak up in light forest. I mean, it's not like the writers are going to force the old 'sprained ankle' routine down our throa...oh, they are? Twice?? Fuck you, writers. All this bullshit so that Heath can have his two minutes of terrible acting.
Again, danger is omni-present in this world. The characters have NO idea where it will come from but it will come so - not all of these people, who don't rightly fear the world, will die. It's fact.
6. Glenn. Glenn is now lost, completely helpless and relying on a shady dude who is clearly losing his shit? Starting a fire across town is the best idea you can think of? How about this: the dude in best shape runs outside and leads the stragglers away, then doubles back later.
- Separating so that two people are now alone is a really bad idea in this world. There's danger from the walkers and from *something* else. Glenn also stuck with him because he wanted to trust him. I firmly believe Glenn is not dead. They clearly wrote and filmed it in a way to give them an Out.
7. Jump off the dumpster onto the side fence, dummies. It's right there.
- I thought the fence extended higher than the dumpster, much more so, making jumping impractical. Plus they were surrounded at that point I thought.
8. People actually believe Glenn is dead? Really?
I get the criticism, I don't think I'm a WD apologists. The characters have always seemingly done the wrong things many times but not always and I think there should be some error bars for the wrong act. To expect perfectly plausible plans and actions from the writing is unrealistic.
