that does a big disservice to the vast majority of players who don't take the physical contact off-field. -- (edited)

I've always been at least somewhat uncomfortable with people risking themselves for my entertainment; but it's gotten so much worse since the revelations in recent years about head injuries and some teams outright shaming players for even having injuries treated.
neither of my teams has had the really awful stuff in any ongoing/non-limited way, thank goodness; but it's been increasingly icky to know they're part of an organization that allows such crap to continue.
in this case, that an owner would admit knowledge of the severity and yet on they went? makes me sick.
and, from bbs, the implied criticism of the victim for taking money misses out on her real, legit fear of him and his cronies. we all know of stories where legal measures didn't do a danged thing to prevent more damage or worse from happening. taking money and attempting to make a life for herself shouldn't be shamed. especially as this wasn't a totally hidden acceptance in this case - the stories were out there, and bless the woman who did her best and put herself at risk to seek help.
(edited because a letter went missing; but I gently dragged it back in, yes I did.)
