it always reminds me of that bit in the 30 rock ep where liz lemon realizes writers are obsolete...

and she ends up with a bunch of other people whose had jobs whose time had passed. one's a travel agent, one's an auto worker and one guy says "i used to play sax solos in a rock and roll band!"
