Shortage of large turkeys this year. So I'm guessing the small ones I like will be more expensive than usual :(

I slice and freeze them - and yes, they last forever. And I leave a lot on the bone and make ham and bean soup. -- nm

And have you noticed they no longer differentiate between shank and butt halves? I have to be really careful to get the good one. -- nm

I know what to do :) but I just do not eat a lot of ham. bacon, ribs & pulled pork are what I mainly do -- nm

Amateur. :-) I try to spend as little on groceries so I can go into Fred Meyer the weekend before Thanksgiving, spend $150, and get a free turkey.

But when you spend 150 at Fred Meyer you could get 215 dollars worth of food at Wi co for the same money. My turkey will cost 4 bucks after discount

We haven't had deals like that in a couple of year. .59/lb is about the best we've had. -- nm
