but that isn't what you study. i had an entire semester on Fassbinder. I did a British New Wave course. French cinema.

unless you were doing something that those movies actually fit into, theme-wise, you weren't seeing them in school.
now, of course, being in that program would indicate you love film, so seeing these things was something you prioritize in your own time.
but you can't see *everything*.
