I don't want to restart anything; but, in going to find a better version of this LA killing update than nydn, I thought to try yahoo! (my gosh, does their site suck now - I'm reminded why I don't go there very often - I could see how anyone using it could miss content, because, again, suck.). there's a link on their front page, another on their u.s. page - both to non-fresh content; but they are there.

I'm just going to go ahead and link to nydn. (www.nydailynews.com)
