I'm sure all of that is possible via custom html, but I did none of that. I only picked out my theme, filled out pages for each novel, called it a day

The downside to tumblr is most people if they follow you will only see the posts you make on their dashboards.
Only those who go to the domain name get the full page. So sometimes if I'm hawking a book, I'll have to post a link to its page via the dashboard.
