my mom has some odd toe situations because of arthritis, joint replacement, and more. not quite as cringe-inducing as lebron's, but I have told her to be careful around small children when she's wearing sandals, as she may scare them. (probably not, because kids are flexible/accepting a lot of the time; but it makes her laugh.)
