good on him and the family.

some of the changes advised would go a long way towards making the most serious head injuries less likely; but all of the info. about possibilities otherwise should be readily available and discussed at the school/parents level, and it's still not as much as it should be.

outright ban is just so tough a sell, and it isn't just football in the mix - hockey and gymnastics, of common sports, are also up there for potential top-level bad stuff. there isn't enough about injuries for other sports either - a coworker's daughter was in pretty high level softball, and it was barely brushed, even when there's been good coverage in the local paper and such.
